Dr. Derrick Thornborrow O.D.

Derrick ThornborrowDr. Derrick Thornborrow received his Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Waterloo in 1980. He then worked part-time as a clinical instructor at the University while establishing the Waterdown Optometric Clinic. Laser Refractive Surgery and contact lens therapy hold a special interest for Dr. Thornborrow and is an associate of TLC Laser Eye Centers.
Dr. Thornborrow is Board Certified in the Treatment and Management of Ocular Disease and is a member of the Ontario Association of Optometrists (OAO), the Canadian Association of Optometrists (CAO) and the Hamilton and District Society of Optometrists. A fourth generation Flamborough resident, Dr. Thornborrow is active in civic and community affairs.

 

 

Dr. Marnie Richmond B.Sc.,O.D.

Marnie RichmondDr. Marnie Richmond received her Doctorate of Optometry from the University of Waterloo in 1991. Upon graduation, she joined Dr. Thornborrow's practice. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of Guelph. Dr. Richmond finds working with a variety of people to be a stimulating aspect of her work. She is particularly interested in her young and senior patients. Dr. Richmond has been trained in all aspects of Laser co-management and has a growing number of Laser patients. Dr. Richmond is a lifelong resident of Flamborough and is active in the community.


 

 

Dr. Lyndsey Kay M.Sc.,O.D.

Lynsey KayDr. Kay was born and raised in Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario. She received her Honors Bachelor of Science at McMaster University in Hamilton and continued her studies at University of Toronto where she completed her Master’s of Science in Laboratory Medicine and Pathobiology before deciding to pursue a career in Optometry. She then received her Doctor of Optometry from the University of Waterloo and throughout her academic studies was recognized on the Dean’s Honors List. Past experience includes a four-month externship at an ophthalmologic center in Birmingham, Alabama, specializing in diseases of the retina, glaucoma, pre- and post-operative cataract, refractive surgery as well as oculoplastics. In addition, she completed clinical rotations in pediatrics, contact lens and binocular vision. She is a member of the Canadian Association of Optometrists (CAO), Ontario Association of Optometrists (OAO), and has traveled to Guyana to provide eye care to under-privileged children. In her spare time, Dr. Kay enjoys traveling and spending time with friends and family.


 

 

Dr. Juliusz Gorecki, B.Sc., O.D.

Juliusz GoreckiDr. Gorecki was born in Poland but grew up in Waterloo, Ontario. He graduated from the University of Waterloo in 2009 with both his Bachelor of Honours Science degree and his Doctorate of Optometry. Following graduation Dr. Gorecki lived and worked in Toronto in both private practice and at the TLC Toronto Laser Eye Centre. He moved to Dundas in the fall of 2014 and is excited to call the Hamilton area his new home.

Dr. Gorecki enjoys working with patients of all ages and has a particular interest in contact lenses and laser vision correction (which he underwent himself); he is also fluent in Polish. In his spare time Dr. Gorecki enjoys travelling, keeping active, and attending concerts.
